Ways to Save Money at Kroger

Kroger Shopper’s Card (Plus Card)

The first place to start to access the best savings is by signing up for a Kroger shopper’s card– also called a Kroger Plus Card.  With this loyalty program not only will shoppers get the lowest prices, access to digital coupons, and earn rewards like Kroger fuel savings. Customers can sign up online, in the mobile app, or in-store.

Kroger Digital Coupons

Paper coupons are still a tried and true way to save money at the grocery. But coupons, like many things, have gone digital! No more clipping paper coupons, just add the Kroger digital coupons to your shopper’s card. Inside the Kroger app or online, you can “clip” coupons on your favorite national brands and Kroger store brand too. Also, look for a new program called “Cash Back“- think of it like a digital mail-in-rebate (Ibotta users will be quite familiar with this easy way to save in a rebate app format.)

Buy More, Save More Promotions

One of the best weekly ad promotions for saving is the Buy More, Save More offer.  You may have heard these called “Mega Sale” promotions. Purchase 5 or more of participating items and save $0.50-$1 on each item. Not only do these savings make for low prices, but you can stack with coupons for even great discount.

Download the Kroger Mobile App

For even easier access to savings, download the Kroger mobile app. Through the app, shoppers can download digital coupons, easily create shopping lists of favorite items, browse the weekly ad, find items in-store by aisle, refill prescriptions in seconds, and check fuel points.

Watch for the WooHoo

Wait, what’s a WooHoo? These clearance stickers can be found in several places throughout your Kroger store. Often times there will be one main clearance location for the bulk of these reduced items.  You can also find manager special markdowns in the meat, dairy and floral departments (you know I love those marked-down flowers. There are many reasons why items might be marked down for clearance- close to exp date, dented can, overstock, etc. But whatever the reason, it means more savings for your family! (Yes you can use coupons too!) Update: sadly, they have updated these clearance stickers… many no longer say “WooHoo” but now say “Reduced”. I’ll still say “woohoo” when I see them!

Kroger Fuel Savings

With the Kroger Save on Fuel Program, you can earn up to $1 off a gallon of gas. There are 3 ways to earn Kroger fuel rewards: spending on groceries ($1 spent = 1 fuel point), filling prescriptions (50 pts), and double points for gift card purchases (watch for special seasonal 4X gift card offers). 100 points can be redeemed for $0.10 off per gallon, redeem up to 1000 points for $1 off a gallon.  See more details on the Kroger Fuel Points Program here.

Not only does Kroger help families save money on their grocery purchases, but they want to save you time and sanity as well.  Check out these other ways that Kroger

• Kroger Pickup is a must for busy families and people on the go. Order online or in the app, and your items will be brought right to your car. This saves you time and offers a less contact option of getting your grocery essentials.
