Do you host Easter brunch with the family? Or maybe planning a spring celebration for your kids. Either way, You have to try these Rice Krispie Easter Egg Nests.
There are some recipes that are timeless and of course, the Rice Krispies Treat is one. This fun remake of the classic rice cereal recipe is a perfect dessert for the spring season. Who can resist the marshmallowy goodness of a rice krispie treat? Add in some Cadbury chocolate eggs and you have a sweet treat for Easter dessert. Not to mention, I am a sucker for what I like to call “cute food”. These definitely have the “aww, cute” factor to impress your guests.
Do your kids love to help in the kitchen? Since this recipe is not only tasty but easy peasy too, it is also a great way for children to get involved with the preparation. Have the kiddos unwrap and place the Hershey’s kisses. Then little fingers can help fill the nest with the eggs too. (Of course, you may have to set a limit on how many of the kisses and eggs get eaten during the process. 😉 )

Ingredients
- 1 T butter
- 10 oz marshmallows
- 6 C Rice Krispies Cereal
- 18 Hershey’s Chocolate Kisses
- 54 mini eggs
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 200F
- Grease a 18 muffin tray and set aside.
- Place the marshmallows in a large microwave-safe bowl and heat for 25-30 seconds. Stir well, and repeat heating as needed.
- Add the rice krispies and mix until all of the cereal is incorporated.
- Scoop approximately 1/4 cup of rice krispie mixture into each muffin cups.
- Grease your hands with some butter and press the rice krispies into a nest shape.
- Unwrap your kisses and place one in each nest.
- Put your nests in the oven to melt the kisses (approximately 10 minutes, keep an eye on them.)
- Once chocolate kisses have started to melt, remove from oven and let cool 2 minutes.
- Place at least 3 mini eggs per nest.
- When the nests have had a chance to set and harden, pop them out of the muffin tray using a butter knife.
- ENJOY!
