White Chocolate Covered Oreos Recipe
Every Christmas I make Candy Covered Oreos for my big brother. It is a super simple “recipe”, that gets rave reviews! I love that the kiddos can get involved too. Also, depending on what sprinkles you use- these treats can be used for any holiday or celebration!
Dipped Oreos Supplies:
White Almond Bark (aka candy coating)
Oreo Cookies
Sprinkles or Colored Sugar
Foil or Wax Paper
Instructions:
Melt half the almond bark in a microwave safe bowl. I start with 1 min, take it out and stir and then continue in 30 sec intervals until all melted (to avoid burning the bark)
Dip Oreo straight down into the melted almond bark. (yes your fingers will get a little messy). Or, I have recently tried using a fork. Lay the Oreo on the fork, and dip it straight down in the melted bark.
Shake off excess candy coating and place uncoated bottom on foil/wax paper
Here’s where the kids can add their touch- sprinkle on toppings before the coating dries
Melt rest of bark and finish up with the Oreos. One package of almond bark will coat just about 1 package of Oreos. With the leftovers, try dipping pretzel rods too or use for Almond Bark Nut Goodies.
One year I experimented with using mint flavored Oreos. I liked them! I used the green sugar to decorate those so no one would get a surprise when they bit into it (my bro prefers the original Oreo and appreciated the color coding).
I typically make these at Christmas. But these have become my go-to when I need a quick dessert. I love to have colored sugars on hand to coordinate. Recently I made these for an event at the high school and the school colored jimmies on top were a hit.
