Welcome guest into your home with this friendly multi-seasonal metal wall decor piece. It’s an easy Cricut project that uses vinyl and cut paper to upgrade a home decor store metal frame.
Metal Wall Decor Upgraded with Easy Cricut Project
Here are a few things I love when it comes to home decor: easy Cricut projects, multi-seasonal displays that can be used year-round and upgrading a store-bought item with a little DIY. My most recent Cricut vinyl project has ALL.THE.THINGS! And it uses the on-trend metal and wooden sign combo to add a little farmhouse flair to your wall decor.
Wood and Metal Wall Frame Clearance Find
The starting point for this project was a home decor store clearance find; a metal and wood frame. I have this spot on my foyer wall, right next to the “as for me and my house” print and the updated doorbell cover, that has been begging for something. I knew that this piece would be perfect there, but it just needed a little DIY upgrade.
And when it comes to DIYing I love my Cricut design and cut machine! There are so many possibilities! And since my starting “canvas” was on clearance, I knew using my Cricut would make this an affordable home decor project (which you know I am all about).
Welcome All the Seasons and People
Because this was going to be wall decor for my entry hall, I wanted it to be welcoming. As I mentioned before, I LOVE when items can be updated for each season. So my wheels got spinning and I decided to start with a vinyl “Hello”.
Since the galvanized metal sign is magnetic, I found 2 small metal clips that came with another metal photo display but that weren’t being used. I knew I could use these to “clip” something under the vinyl cut Hello. Here’s where the “multi-seasonal” part comes in to play.
Easy Cricut Project Thanks to Access Images
In the design space, I found free Cricut images of seasonal words. These are were all included in my for Free thanks to my Cricut access account. I searched for words like “Fall”, “Spring”, “Summer”, “Winter”, and “Friends” and made sure that the word image was continuous. Meaning that the entire cut word/image would be connected so I could attach it on with the magnetic clips. A tip- chose words with a bolder profile. That delicate “Easter” cut is pretty but also a little more fragile.
Now I can swap out whatever word fits the season or reason! I also added a “junk mail” envelope to the backside of the frame to hold all the words.
