This season would usually be filled with Mother’s Day brunches and Graduation parties. These celebrations aren’t canceled due to COVID-19 quarantine, but it does mean we have to get more creative with how we honor these special people in our lives.
I have found a few unique celebration options and DIY gift ideas. Check them out below.
Mother’s Day and Graduation Gifts and Celebrations during Stay at Home Orders.
Popped Passion Popcorn Cakes
I LOVE this mompreneur based business. The creator of Popped Passion turned her love for popcorn into unique treats that are perfect for sending for celebrations. Popped Passion popcorn cakes offer cakes and pops made of all the popcorn goodness you love. They are like a cross between rice krispie treats and popcorn balls, and they cut like a cake! Right now you can get Graduation and Mother’s Day themed options. The Mother’s Day special is a Heart Shaped Cake and 6 minis for only $40. AND if you use the CODE Spring2020, you can save 30% off any order. (Please order by Tuesday for possible Mother’s Day delivery). Shop Popped Passion HERE!
Cricut Joy Projects
The newest member in the Cricut cutting machine family is the Cricut Joy. This portable machine is small but mighty! And at $179, it makes a d affordable gift for mom. THEN, she can use her machine to make gifts and decor too. My favorite items to make are the Insert Cards– they look so professional. There are endless possibilities to make awesome vinyl, iron-on, paper crafts and more. It truly is the gift that keeps giving.
Repurposed Candle Jars
You may know that I am obsessed with repurposing jars. My new fave kind of glass to upcycle are candle jars. Check out how I have repurposed candle jars to create fun decor and giftable items. Add a Cricut vinyl to a new jarred candle or clean out that already burned candle and use the jar for a DIY gift. Just add a vinyl, like a monogram, and then fill it up. I am loving these FizzBenefitz shower tablets– perfect to fill a candle jar for mom.
Bandana Wreath
Many parents of High School Seniors are celebrating their graduate by decorating their doors and porches with letter jackets and other school-related items. This would be the perfect time to make this Bandana Wreath. Since bandanas come in so many colors you can customize to show off your school spirit. Then add a paper banner (I made mine with the Cricut Joy) to commemorate your hard-working graduate.
Cardinal Yard Cards
If you live near Worthington, Ohio, you may have seen these fun sign displays popping up in your neighbors’ yards. Cardinal Yard Cards was created by a pre-tween sister duo. You “rent” the signs for a 24 hour period. While most often the signs are used for Birthday celebrations- consider using them to brag on your Mom or Grad. Not in their delivery area? Check out these similar yard signs. You could go in with several other graduating seniors’ families and pass the signs around.
