I knew it was time again, but thought I would see what you all had to say about it. What am I talking about? Hair donation time. So I asked on my Facebook page and it was a resounding- Yes, time to go short again!
The last time I donated was in 2012 and you may remember I had someone join me, my daughter Naomi. And really this time it was her that was leading the momentum to get the cut. “When can we donate again mom”- music to my heart! So when I was looking to book our appointments, I thought it would be a perfect opportunity for us to go back to where we had our first hair donation cuts done, The Spa at River Ridge.
Although, it wasn’t really “back” to the same place since The Spa at River Ridge just moved. Now they occupy a beautiful 2 story building on Wall Street in Dublin. I was ecstatic when I found out they wanted to host Naomi and I for our donation cut appointments.
The Spa at River Ridge loves to support clients who are giving a hair donation. They choose to partner with Children with Hair Loss and will send your hair in for you. CWHL has one of the shortest maximum lengths at 8 inches, so it really is a lot more feasible to give than you may think. (see more details on their hair donation requirements). You would be surprised at how much hair you may have to give.
The new Wall Street location is perfect for the Spa at River Ridge. On the first floor are the salon services. I love that some of the stylists now have their own little rooms- it makes it feel very personal. And if you are getting your hair done in anyway- you have to stop for a pic at the “selfie wall“. How fun is that in this social media crazed world (BTW- The Spa at River Ridge is on all you fave social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter).
The upstairs is where the “spa” type services are located, including massage, facials and mani/pedi stations. Speaking of pedicures… They treated us to a pedi after our cuts. Naomi was super excited about her first real pedicure. And what a location for her to experience it! Every single chair has a beautiful, serene view (and the massaging functions are fab too). I’m sure this will be the first of many mother/daughter pedi experiences.
