What to Make with Flax Seed?
So you see an awesome recipe on Pinterest and want to try it right away. It calls for an ingredient you don’t use often, but you go buy it anyway. Now what do you do with that ingredient after making the one recipe? That’s kind of how I feel about Flax Seed. I bought it for my granola recipe, but wanted to find more uses for this healthy ingredient. That’s how I ended up with the energy ball recipe. These turned out so well, now I want more! This is my first time using flax in anythingso i chose to make the Chocolate and Peanut Butter Energy Balls. I felt the texture of the flax in my mouth a little at the end but overall they were great. I am a sweets addict and this really curbed my sweet tooth after a healthy lunch. Thanks for the post!

Tracy- thanks for sharing your experience. I would agree the ground flax seed has a “texture” to it. But the flavor in that recipe makes up for it! 😉 Glad to hear you liked them and what a great way to curb that afternoon drag.

i use Ground Flax a loT. For your recipes shoulD I use ground or regular flax seed?
Mary Hoover says
Great question Peggy. It really depends on the recipe. Most of the ones listed here use ground flax seed. But be sure to double check before starting.

Thanks for your quick response. So, unless it specifies Ground Flax Seed, I should use just Regular Flax Seed?
Mary Hoover says
Another great question! I actually went back to my own recipes and realized I just wrote flax seed when really I meant ground flax seed. So thanks to you I fixed that! 😉 I think either one really could be used in these recipes. Obviously the ground has a finer texture.
Again, thanks for the conversation on the topic!
