Chocolate Peanut Butter Energy Balls Recipe
Have you heard of Energy Balls or Power bites before? Hubs is a marathon runner and always seems to be training for a race. When he gets deep into his training schedule I often find something starts to grow… his appetite! Burning so many calories each week means he has to restock! I found a few variations of these power ball recipes and knew they would be perfect for him.
The Carnation Breakfast Essentials was already in the pantry, so I thought it would be a good recipe ingredient addition. And did I mention these energy bites are easy-peasy!? The kiddos love them too! These have become a staple for after school snack, in their lunch or to take on sports tournament weekends. Really who can resist a recipe with chocolate and peanut butter combo!?
In the recipe ingredients for these energy balls, you can see there is optional sugar. I add a little – just because hubs has a sweet tooth and his fast metabolism can manage it. But I think they taste plenty sweet without the sugar!
It’s best to keep these refrigerated, and Rubbermaid food storage containers are perfect for the job.

My husband is on a limited diet and has to have lots of fiber each day. Chai and flax seeds are used everyday, several times a day. Thank you for this yummy recipe. As we all know you need to eat healthy but you’ve got to feel like you can be naughty too and these power bites satisfy his sweet tooth and are a healthy cheat.
