The Best Roald Dahl Books for Kids (In My Opinion)
Happy Birthday Roald Dahl! Today, September 13, 2019 he would have been 103! So September 13 is officially Roald Dahl Day!
He has been called the world’s #1 story teller and Roald Dahl characters have earned him this honor. Wit, charm, qurky, odd, endearing are all words to describe the stories of Roald Dahl.
Over the past few months we have been reading (and re-reading) several Dahl favorites. Of course we started with the classic story of Charlie and Willy Wonka. Even hubs got into the action with his fave Matilda (we saw the stage adaptation of Matilda in NYC- awesome!). The book we have just started is a lesser know Dahl, but when we saw Fantastic Mr. Fox during the summer movie series- we knew it was a must read. (It’s back at the Gateway in Cbus for 2018)
Honestly I would totally splurge and get the whole Roald Dahl Collection of books. Or you can check out each individual Roald Dahl story. The list below are my faves, therefore in my opinion- the best Roald Dahl books! 😉
Roald Dahl Books List
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl
Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator (Charlie Bucket Book 2)

Roald Dahl Collection – 15 Paperback Book Boxed Set
But if I had to pick my all time favorite Roald Dahl story, it would have to be The BFG. I can remember my little brother and I reading it together when we were kids. And that is why I was so very excited to see the masters of imagination at Walt Disney Studios bring this book to life. If you haven’t seen The BFG movie yet, it’s a must! One of the best movie book adaptations ever!
LOVE the picture of Walt Disney and Roald Dahl in 1942. What an amazing conversation that must have been!
So what is your Favorite Roald Dahl Book?
