It is hard to fathom the tragic events that took place at Sandy Hook Elementary School today. I certainly did more hugging and snuggling today than usual- and realized that I take far too many things for granted. Our hearts ache for Newtown! My prayers have been with the people affected!
Everyone processes tragedy differently- some want to immerse themselves in the details to gain better understanding and others want to do everything possible to distract their minds from the harsh reality. Some scream- some cry- some pray- some… Regardless of the response- remember that we are all coping in our own way. Love and understanding is what is need most at this time!
“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.’ To this day, especially in times of ‘disaster,’ I remember my mother’s words, and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers – so many caring people in this world.” — Mister Rogers
