It’s that time of year again. Mid- January is Target Toy Clearance time! I have been to several Central Ohio stores and found items for 50-70% off. This is the perfect time to stock up the gift closet. Think ahead for b-day (even Christmas) gifts for your whole family. I also pick up a few extra gifts to have on hand for that surprise birthday party invite. And if I don’t end up using them as a gift, they make great donation items at the end of the year. The clearance pricing and items included will vary by store- but here are a few items I have found.

What I saw at Target looked mostly like junk, unless they added things since a week and a half ago. Nothing special that I would return for- I didn’t see Lego or Duplo, no Melissa & Doug, etc. Just junky plastic bits. I did, however, find some nice toys at the Meijer clearance. They had Melissa & Doug puzzles, Lego, Monster High, Barbie, puzzles for older kids, card and board games, blocks and toys; art/craft sets for kids, toy tea sets, etc. Theirs were 50% to 90% off. I combined it with the Meijer Rewards discount they offered last Friday and Saturday to save even more.
It can be hit or miss on these clearance finds. And thanks for the heads up on Meijer! I mainly think of Target having their toy clearance in Jan but looks like i need to keep my eye out elsewhere too.
