This week has been National Young Readers Week. And what a better way to end the week- then cozied up with your family, a bowl of popcorn and a movie based on a classic! I love when my family has read a book together and then see the characters come to life on the big screen. Netflix has so many great movies based on classics that kids (old and young) will love. Here are a few to choose from:
Big Kids 1.Hugo 2.Escape to Witch Mountain NEW! 3.James and the Giant Peach 4.The Baby-Sitters Club 5.Goosebumps 6.A Wrinkle in Time | Little Kids 1. Charlotte’s Web NEW! 2.The Velveteen Rabbit 3.The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Other Stories 4.The Magic School Bus 5.The Little Engine That Could 6.Stuart Little 2 7.Tall Tales: The Man Who Walked Between the Towers, The Snowy Day, I Stink! and Trashy Town |
I can remember watching Charlotte’s Web in grade school and now my kids have seen it too. And we really loved the endearing story and imagination in Hugo (now I want to go back and read this one). A childhood fave author of mine was Madeline L’Engle. So I am definitely going to talk my 10 year old into watching that one with me. What are some of your fave, books turned movie?
