Ah, Fall! It’s that time of year… everything pumpkin spice! While some may favor a pumpkin spice latte, I prefer to eat my pumpkin with a fork. Or in this case with a spoon in this yummy pumpkin spice oatmeal!
And of course this hearty, breakfast fave is just perfect to add a touch of maple syrup to also! Mmmm. This stovetop recipe could also be modified to cook overnight in a crockpot with steel cut oats as well.
Maple Pumpkin Spice Oatmeal Recipe
So this fall, sip your lattes and eat your pie… but also try this delicious oatmeal to satisfy your pumpkin spice craving. I’m sure it will be a new autumn food fave- it just warms me up thinking of it!
Ingredients
- 1 cup Old Fashioned Oats
- 2/3 cup Water can use milk or cream
- 1/2 cup pureed Pumpkin
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons Maple Syrup
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a medium sized sauce pan. Stir over a low heat until the oatmeal is the desired consistency.
- Remove from heat, optional toppings include extra cinnamon, additional maple syrup, and cream.
- Serve warm.
