Can you believe Christmas is almost here?! Wasn’t it just Thanksgiving?! Well reality has hit and unless you rely on Amazon Prime to bail you out (which is feasible too), you might just need a couple last minute gift ideas for Christmas this year.
This post was written to complement my appearance on FOX Good Day Columbus. Watch the segment here!
Budget Friendly Last Minute Gift Ideas for Christmas
I give these to my nieces every year and they love it! Head on over to your grocery or drug store and stock up on shampoo, lotion, razors, lip balm and more. You can often find awesome store promotions + coupons to make these items cheap, or even free! I actually raid my stockpile for many of these items. Fill up a basket and wrap it in gift cellophane to complete the look.
Scent-sational Gift Basket
This one is similar to the one above. Buy wax warmers, candles and air fresheners to make a “scent-sational” gift basket. Once again, you can save on these items with coupons, store sales and coupon app savings. I have even created a cute gift tag to finish it off. See full details on this DIY gift basket idea here.
“Keep Calm & Bake On”
This is another fun DIY project and perfect for teachers or neighbors. I just love a practical gift, especially one that has to do with food! I found the cute “keep calm and bake on” spatula at Big Lots (it was the inspiration for the gift idea). But if you can’t find the spatula, you can use a regular one and print another one of my fun gift tags. See the “Keep Calm and Bake On” gift tags here.
Save on Spirits
The traditional gift to bring the host/hostess at a party is a bottle of wine. Did you know you can save on your spirits purchases too? Currently several of the grocery rebate apps are offering cash back on wine, beer and liquor purchases. Check out Ibotta and Checkout 51 to see if your favorite brand is there. This way, you may be able to get a “better” bottle for the price of a value brand.
Or if you have a wine lover on your list. Check out my DIY Wine of the Month Club gift idea. Is was a hit for hubs one year for Christmas. And much less than the “real” wine of the month subscriptions.
Gift Cards/ CFA Calendar
This time of year there are tons of stores and restaurants offering special gift card promotions. Many of them are buy a certain amount of gift cards and get a bonus gift card. Places like Piada offer a free entree with gift card purchase. And if you know a Chick-fil-A fan, buy the Cow Calendar. Inside is not only silly pics of the cows, but also a gift card loaded with a different freebie offer each month (gift that keeps giving). Check out my huge list of Holiday Bonus Gift Card Offers here.
Hey here is another gift that keeps on giving – every month! There is a magazine out there for every person in your life – man, woman or child. And you can still find some great deals on them from sites like DiscountMags and even Amazon. Either buy one of the issues off the newsstand to wrap, or make a little certificate to let them know their gift will be arriving each month!
