Today I was in the store and indeed found these white men’s jeans marked up to $50 from an original price of $30. Sure, do we know that this happens- yes. However, never in such a blatant way! The classic American department store has been around since the early 1900s and it has been sad to see it’s downturn in the last few years.
No coupons? And now no fair pricing? No wonder the company made this list of brands that might dissappear in 2014.
What are your thoughts? Sad about losing a once trustworthy company? Appalled by the marking up of prices. Speak your mind (leave a comment below).

I noticed this last weem at my local Penny’s in Chesapeake, Va. I was looking for curtains and noticed they were advertised at 40% off. They were priced at $70 but I noticed an ink mark under the price so I peeled it back only to see the original price had been $40! It made me so mad I left the store. It’s only a matter of time before they go under with schemes like this.

When I was a kid my parents shopped there. I used to shop there because of coupons and promotions. It is all a game. I will no longer be shopping there.

Wow, that’s a shame. JCP is a store from my childhood. Would be sad to see it go, but no way are they going to make money this way. Times are hard and consumers arent stupid. I dont shop here often, but this is one my top Black Friday stores. Maybe they need consider those type of prices to bring business back.

Thanks for commenting Jennifer! I agree, it is a shame! And with so many other options out there, consumers won’t put up with it- they will just move on!
