See these ideas for how to save on Easter this year. Everything from the food, to baskets, clothes and entertainment.
Ways to Save on Easter
Having a wonderful Easter celebration doesn’t mean breaking into the nest egg of your savings account. Here are a few tips on how to save on Easter this year (so you can enjoy the celebration with family and friends).
How to Save on Easter Food
My obvious answer to this one is to shop the sales and use coupons! If you aren’t using grocery rebate apps, start now. Many have special holiday offers for extra savings. Want to start with just one? Use Ibotta, you will earn $10 on your first redemption for a nice bonus!
How to Save on Easter Basket Fillers
My favorite basket fillers are end-of-the-season clearance items. Yes, that means there are often Valentine’s Day (and even Christmas) items in the Easter baskets. Many times you can find things that have generic packaging so it really works out perfectly. But if you don’t plan ahead (yep, you have to plan to hit the sales with the baskets in mind), then check out the dollar store. I have found lots of Disney items at the dollar store that are perfect for baskets.
You can also find great non-candy items on Amazon too. Put that Prime membership to work! Find multi-pack items that will fill more than one basket or items that are practical (flip flops, sunglasses) to get the most bang for your buck.
How to Save on Family Entertainment
Most communities have several opportunities for family fun during the Easter weekend. And many don’t even cost a dime. Search for churches that offer free Easter Egg hunts or find a local mom’s activity blog for a listing. I love What Should We do Today Columbus for her weekend lists or look for a City Moms Blog in your area (Columbus Moms Blog is here)
And if you are in the Columbus area, the Columbus Zoo’s Eggs, Paws and Claws event is back for 2022. See the details here.
How to Save on Clothes
I have a whole post on how to save on buying clothes, I highly recommend checking that out for tons of tips. But just to be simple- don’t pay full price! If that means you are searching for a coupon or looking on Facebook buy sell groups for second hand, there is NEVER a reason to pay full price- even on your Easter best.
And speaking of coupons, right now Kohl’s is running a great sale (of course!) 15-20% off, $10 Kohl’s Cash and don’t forget those Yes2You rewards. Definitely a great way to stack up the savings for Easter.
