By now you know that Guardians of the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2 blasted it’s way into theatres on May 5th. Once again this rag-tag bunch of unlikely heroes find themselves saving the galaxy (and having a few touching moments along the way).
And yet again this sequel brings back the great retro references that Gen-Xers will love (and parents you will have to explain who David Hasselhoff is and why the references are funny). But I would also say this film bring back the language and sexual innuendo as well.
When I go to these movie previews, I am often asked ,”what age do you think this movie is appropriate for?” I would say this is definitely a PG-13 rated movie for a reason. We are more conservative when it comes to what our kids watch, and I know other’s feel the same way. So yes the special effects are better (3D on this one is amazing) and the jokes are funnier- but the language seemed to be a little stronger in Vol 2 as were the sexual references. Take it for what it’s worth for your family… (You can read what my fave movie review site Dove.org has to say about GOTGvol2, including “language count” 😉 )
But as you can see, I did take my 13 yr old (almost 14.. yikes!) and we had a fun time! Which what going to the movies is all about, right!
And for some more fun… check out Chris Prat’s fave prop… it’s not what you think!
Why do I post about Disney, Marvel and DreamWorks Movies? Because they are fun! I receive all kinds of great info to share with you about on the newest films. In return, I often get to see a pre-screen of these movies. Then I can tell you if you should spend your money on a ticket… or wait for DVD!
