I recently was doing some cleaning/reorganizing and found my grad school tassel from graduation. It’s one of those things that you hate to throw away… yet ends up collecting dust. With the Christmas tree currently in full glory at our house, I knew just the way to preserve that memory and accomplishment. With a quick DIY project.
What made this sooo easy (and almost free) was the $0.88 plastic ornament I found at Walmart. Be sure to find one with a removable top.
Carefully squeeze the wire ring together so you can slide the top off the ornament. (Ok for $0.88 I could tell my “top” is a little flimsy so just be careful not to bend it out of shape.)
Then take one end of the wire and poke it thru the knot at the top of the tassel (you may have to tie a knot). Feed tassel through the ornament bulb and then replace the cap/top. Voila! Your Graduation Tassel Ornament is complete!
Obviously these ornaments really are great little “time capsules” for holding memory items. What other things can you think of to fit inside?
