Changes to Walgreens Balance Rewards (Already)

According to their website, Walgreens Balance Changes Coming Soon!

ALL Balance Rewards members can earn:

• 100 points per prescription or immunization
• 300 points for 90-day prescriptions
• Up to 50,000 points per year on pharmacy transactions
• You can even earn points on Medicare and Medicaid prescriptions!

To simplify the Balance Rewards program, we’ll discontinue the certain regional offers.
Plus, we’ll have news this summer about a new way to earn even more points!

 

Walgreens rolled out a new program recently called Balance Rewards. And they are already making some changes. At first, you could earn multiple Rewards from a particular item in one transaction. For instance this coming week you can get 2,000 Balance Rewards Points when you buy 2 Mitchum deodorants. Before, you could purchase 4 deodorants in one transaction and earn 4,000 reward points for the transaction. But now, like with earning Register Rewards, you will have to split them up into multiple transactions to earn a second (or 3rd or 4th…) set of Balance Rewards points.

Just this week I reached my first 5000 points= $5 off purchase. Have you been using Walgreens Balance Rewards? What do you think?
