Starbucks has been catching flack for all the waste their disposable cups produce. To help alleviate the problem they have come up with a “solution”. Starting today you can purchase a $1 plastic Starbucks reusable cup. And to encourage customers to use the new reusable, they will receive a dime discount for each refill (so the cup pays for itself after 10 uses).
The cup resembles the paper version and has interior lines to denote a “tall” or “grande” size. Starbucks will clean them for customers with a boiling-water rinse before each refill.
I have heard that the Starbucks calendar from the end of 2012 has a coupon inside to get this new reusable for Free. Also, no need for the $1 cup if you already have a fave reusable, hubs tells me they offer the $0.10 discount for any reusable cup.
So, would you buy it for a buck? And the better question- would you remember to use it?!
Thanks to Mikaela Hunt for the heads up on the info (from USA Today)
