4 Tips for Online Shopping Savings
Online shopping is not only convenient (gotta love shopping in my PJs after the kiddos go to bed!) but it can help you save money too. Check out my 4 tips for getting the most online shopping savings.
1. Look For Codes– There is no reason to pay full price online! You can almost always find some kind of %, $ off or Free shipping code. I have two got-to sites for locating promo codes: Savings.com and RetailMeNot. If there is a code out there, these sites will have it! Also, joining your fave store’s eNewsletter or reward program is a great idea too. Sometimes they send out member exclusive codes. The same thing goes for in store purchases. Look for a coupon!
2. Earn Cash Back with Rebates– Ebates is an online rebate site that pays you a % of your total purchase in the form of a “big fat check”! Let’s say you want to shop at JCPenney online. Head to Ebates first, they will let you know if there are any promotional codes- then click the “shop now” button and your purchases will be tracked to earn 8% cash back! Plus if you are a new Ebates member, you will get your choice of $10 gift card once you make your first $25 worth of purchases. Read more about Ebates and watch my tutorial video here. Or try TopCashBack too. They will often offer special “Free after cash back offers” (like this one on Fandango Gift Cards.)
3. Use Amazon as a Reference– I love to use Amazon for comparing prices. And if you decide to buy from Amazon, be sure to check out their Prime membership trial. 2 day shipping is awful nice for last minute gifts!
4. Use Gift Cards That Earn Points– If you know you will be shopping at a specific store, stop by your local grocery to pick up gift cards (to use as “cash”). That way you will earn Fuel Points for your online purchase. So even if you can’t find any other form of savings (discount or coupon)- you will at least earn the fuel reward. Speaking of earning them for free… don’t forget all those other great programs that earn you free gift cards too (Shopkick, Ibotta, MyPoints)
