Thanks to DriveShop for the test drive opportunity.
How many times have you heard moms say, “I never wanted to own a minivan.” Maybe you have even said it. I know I was that person- I did not want a Minivan… But with a 2 yr old and twins on the way, I really had no choice.
I have to say if us moms had ever had a chance to drive in a fully-loaded Kia Sedona… We would never make the anti-minivan comments.
And it will change your kid’s mind too. I mean what kiddo wouldn’t want to kick back their feet in Lazy-Boy style and watch a video. I remember one long trip out to Denver and the kiddos were miserable because their feet/legs were hurting from hanging funny off their seats. These foot rests are awesome- and really could be a lifesaver.
The kiddos also loved the fact that they had their “own sunroof” too. Awesome how a little bit of sunshine streaming through can change everyone’s mood.
Every time I am in one of these Kia’s for a test drive I am so amazed at the technology. The Sedona is no different. This time it’s the park assist camera that blew my mind. I love how the “rear” camera actually is now a 360 degree view around your car. That means you can see the curb next to you and the parking cement in front of you. Just genius. You can even turn the camera to come on when you are coming up to a stop light- another way to double check your surroundings.
Here are a few accolades to note on the Kia Sedona:
- SEDONA AWARDED “HIGHEST RANKED VEHICLE APPEAL AMONG MINIVANS”
- NHTSA OVERALL 5-STAR CRASH SAFETY RATING FOR THE 2015 and 2016 SEDONA
- 2015 AUTOBYTEL VAN/MINIVAN OF THE YEAR
- SEDONA NAMED A 2015 and 2016 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK
Looking forward to my next DriveShop test drive and review. All opinions are mine, of course!
Writing on this blog has given me a platform to share with you about ways to save- time, money and sanity. A new twist on this is the opportunity to test drive some great vehicles. I hope my “mom’s take” on these cars will be helpful information if you are looking to purchase a new ride.
