My Andrew, like most tween boys, is interested in comics. So was his dad many years ago (the archived box of plastic sleve covered Batman comic in my basement proves it). 2 Halloween’s past he asked to be The Riddler. I thought it was a very clever costume choice- and a perfect DIY costume opportunity. No need to figure out the riddle, here is how we did it- Riddle Me This!
DIY Riddler Costume
- Green shirt (plain, no graphics) and pants
- Black or Green derby style hat, green ribbon
- Gloves (purple or white)
- Cane or stick, cardboard, yellow tape
- Black permanent marker
-Use the marker to write question marks all over the green shirt. Note: The Riddler question mark has a rounded top (search for images of Riddler to use as a guide).
-On the hat, use green ribbon and draw a question mark on the ribbon with the marker.
-Cut out the same question mark shape from a piece of cardboard (an empty cereal box is perfect). Wrap the cardboard with the yellow tape. Then use the yellow tape to attach the question mark to the top of the cane or stick.
I think the overall look was spot on (the question mark!) And be sure to check out our little Poison Ivy too!
