To finish out Hunger Action Month, I love this great idea from the Worthington Libraries Food for Fines!
You can pay overdue fines and help stock the shelves of theWorthington Food Pantry and Resource Center during the library’s first-ever Food for Fines drive, scheduled September 15-30!
Donations of non-expired canned goods or boxed food items, unopened paper products and toiletries (please, no glass containers or damaged, opened or expired food) will be accepted at the accounts desks at all three library locations. Each item donated will reduce library fines by $1, with a maximum of 20 items per library card.
Only overdue fines will be waived. Patrons will remain responsible for all other fines and fees, including lost or damaged materials. If you do not have fines on your card and choose to donate, you will not receive credits toward future fines.
