Now in its 22nd year, the “Stamp Out Hunger” Food Drive effort is the nation’s largest single-day drive. In 2013, 74.4 million pounds of food was collected.
Here’s how you get involved with the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive:
It is as easy as 1-2 (not even a 3!)
- Collect non-perishable* food items
- Place by your mail box for letter carrier to deliver to a local food pantry.
Be sure to “like” Stamp Out Hunger on Facebook and follow them on Twitter. Share your donations on social media (like Instagram) and encourage your friends to get involved too! Use the hashtag #2014FoodDrive in your social media shoutouts!
And head over to my Grocery Matchups to find some great deals to donate!
*Donate items like canned meats, fish, soup, bottled juice, vegetables, pasta, cereal and rice that do not require refrigeration. Please do not include items that have expired or are in glass containers.
Thanks, Mary for helping spread the word about the Stamp Out Hunger food drive!
Certainly, my pleasure Marsha! Like I say “save more- give more!”. Also, I will be giving the Food Drive a little shoutout on NBC4i tomorrow morning. Gotta get the word out! Such an easy way to help those in need!
🙂 Great, thank you! Yes, going to stock up on bogos tonight!
