How to Make a Jelly Bean Jar Easter Decor
I have seen this project done before using real flowers. But I decided to use silk (fake) flowers for a couple reason- 1. I can just put this away and use it again next year. 2. cuts down on the overall cost. Take your larger jar and place the toilet paper tube down inside. I actually put a couple stones down in the tube just so it wouldn’t move around.
Then start filling up the jar with jelly beans on the outside of the tube. This helps you use less jelly beans and gives you a nice holder to arrange your silk flowers. I found my pretty tulips at the AtHome store along with the fun mesh to use as a table runner (but you could use dollar store flowers too).
If you are using real flowers (look for those manager special mark downs in the grocery floral department to save) use a smaller glass jar instead of the toilet paper tube. That way you can put water in the jar and not affect the jelly beans (or get a messy paper tube!). Also, my little jar had a lid on it. This is a perk of using a repurposed jar- I left the lid on while filling up the jelly beans so no beans ended up inside the smaller jar. (brilliant, IK. 😉
In the end, these turned out so cute- for so little money and effort! My fave kind of DIY decor! Check out my Good Day Columbus segment for these and a few other frugal Easter tips.
