When I was a kid, I remember sitting around the TV with my family watching great, family friendly sitcoms. One of those show was Full House.
“Cut it Out”, “How Rude”, “You Got It, Dude!”
Lighthearted stories- with a “moral to the story” built in. Full House made “TGIF” a weekly event in many homes.
And starting today (Friday ironically), I am so excited to check out the new “Fuller House” on Netflix!
In Fuller House, the adventures that began in 1987 on Full House continue, with veterinarian D.J. Tanner-Fuller (Candace Cameron Bure) recently widowed and living in San Francisco. D.J.’s younger sister/aspiring musician Stephanie Tanner (Jodie Sweetin) and D.J.’s lifelong best friend/fellow single mother Kimmy Gibbler (Andrea Barber), along with Kimmy’s feisty teenage daughter Ramona (Soni Nicole Bringas), all move in to help take care of D.J.’s three boys — the rebellious 12-year-old Jackson (Michael Champion), neurotic 7-year-old Max (Elias Harger) and her newborn baby, Tommy Jr (Messitt Twins).
Guest appearances by John Stamos (Jesse Katsopolis), Bob Saget (Danny Tanner), Dave Coulier (Joey Gladstone), Lori Loughlin (Becky Katsopolis) and Scott Weinger (Steve Hale).
To be honest, I have heard some not so great reviews so far. But I’m pretty sure you aren’t looking for Oscar winning performances and complex plots. If you are like me, you are just looking for some good old nostalgic, family friendly entertainment. And that is for sure what you will find on Fuller House!
So I am making up a batch of Gigi’s Caramel Popcorn and gathering my fam around the TV to watch DJ, Steph, and Kimmy (my fave)- and make some new family memories! TGIF!
